How to Export Your Goodreads Library to CSV (2026)
Your Goodreads library is yours — and you can download all of it as a spreadsheet in about two minutes. Here's exactly how.
goodreads_library_export.csv file with every book, rating, review, and date.Step-by-step
1. Open the Import/Export page (desktop only)
Sign in to goodreads.com in a web browser. The export tool isn't in the mobile app, so use a computer — or open the desktop site in your phone's browser. Click My Books in the top menu, then look in the left sidebar for Tools → Import and Export.
2. Click "Export Library"
At the top of the page, click the Export Library button. Goodreads starts building a CSV of your entire library. Larger libraries take a little longer.
3. Download the file
After a few seconds, a link with a date stamp appears next to "Your export from…". Click it to download goodreads_library_export.csv to your computer. That's it — you now have a complete copy of your reading history.
What's inside the file
The CSV contains a row for every book and columns including:
- Title, author, and ISBN/ISBN13
- Your rating and the community average rating
- Number of pages and year published
- Date read and date added
- Your bookshelves (e.g. read, to-read, favorites)
- Your full review text
What to do with it next
Once you have the export, you have options:
- Back it up — a CSV is a safe, permanent copy you control.
- Switch apps — most reading trackers import the Goodreads CSV.
- Analyze your year — open it in a spreadsheet to total pages and ratings. See Goodreads Year in Review.
- Make a book of it — upload the CSV to The Bookfolio and it becomes a printed keepsake.
Upload that CSV. Get a book.
The Bookfolio turns your Goodreads export into a 6×9″ printed paperback of your reading year — covers, reviews, and stats included. Free PDF, or printed and shipped.
