How to Export Your Goodreads Library to CSV (2026)

Updated June 2026 · 4 min read

Your Goodreads library is yours — and you can download all of it as a spreadsheet in about two minutes. Here's exactly how.

Quick version: On the Goodreads desktop site, go to My Books → Import and Export (under Tools), click Export Library, wait a few seconds, then click the download link. You'll get a goodreads_library_export.csv file with every book, rating, review, and date.

Step-by-step

1. Open the Import/Export page (desktop only)

Sign in to goodreads.com in a web browser. The export tool isn't in the mobile app, so use a computer — or open the desktop site in your phone's browser. Click My Books in the top menu, then look in the left sidebar for Tools → Import and Export.

2. Click "Export Library"

At the top of the page, click the Export Library button. Goodreads starts building a CSV of your entire library. Larger libraries take a little longer.

3. Download the file

After a few seconds, a link with a date stamp appears next to "Your export from…". Click it to download goodreads_library_export.csv to your computer. That's it — you now have a complete copy of your reading history.

What's inside the file

The CSV contains a row for every book and columns including:
